Masút を楽しむ会@ル・トン Masút Wine Pairing Dinner@ Le Temps

11月のとある週末、地元のル・トンさんでマスートを楽しむ会と言うワイン会を企画して頂きました。初ワイン会です。12名様と程よい人数でマスートを中心にお料理とワインをペアリングしていただきました。今回はサービススタッフとして参加なので、資格保持者がちらほらいる会でしたが、思い切ってワインエキスパートバッジ付けたりして( ̄▽ ̄;)
One weekend in November, Le Temps, a French bistro in my hometown organized a wine pairing dinner they called “Enjoy Masút Dinner.” This is the first wine pairing event Masút has had in Japan. Twelve guests were there to enjoy food paired with wine. I was there to assist with serving, so I wore my Wine Expert button even though a few of the guests also hold the accreditation.

ペアリングに準備していただいたワインは6種。折角なので私の方から「日本で飲もう最高のワイン」で 白のベストワインを受賞した スイスのヴィニグマというワイナリーのアプリオーリをサプライズで出させて頂きました。赤と白のベストを受賞したワインを受賞パーティー以外で飲む。贅沢なワイン会でしょ?ヴィニグマさんとは授賞式当日のご縁で、今でもいろいろ情報交換させていただいてます。こちらもなんか形になると良いのですが。
The restaurant prepared 6 wines for the night. But I brought one more as a surprise. Aspriori from Vinigma winery in Switzerland. This wine was awarded the Best White Wine at the “Drink the Best Wine in Japan 2017” contest. So the guests had a chance to taste the best red and the best white wines from that event. Isn’t that gorgeous? I became acquainted with Vinigma at the event's celebration party in July and we have been exchanging information and hoping that something good will come out of our efforts ever since. If I could pick a second wine to make more broadly available in Japan...Aspriori.

今回参加された方々の中には10月のル・トンさんの第2回ワイン会に参加された方々もいました。その時に客として参加していた私は、酔った勢いもあり、少しでもマスートを沢山の人に知ってもらいたいところもあり、同席されている方々にマスートとの出会いや酒販免許を取った事、ワインケキスパートの資格を受けることになった事など、物凄くマスートを宣伝してしましました。自分でハードルを上げておいて、期待にお鼻の穴が膨らんでいる皆さまにご満足いただけるか、ドキドキでサービスしておりましたが、シェフのお料理共々、ワインも楽しんで頂けたようです。マスートも美味しかったと言って頂けました。後日ご注文下さった方もありました。
A few of the guests this evening were also there last month at the wine pairing dinner held by Le Temps. I was a guest back in October with them. The dinner and wine was great and with the help of alcohol, I became talkative. I told them my story about Masút, how I got into this new business of alcohol, ended up taking the accreditation and so on. Well I did want them to get to know about Masút, too. So when I saw some of their faces with flared nostrils in expectation, I became a bit nervous serving Masút, hoping it would exceed their expectations. Contrary to my anxiety, the food was excellent and the wines were all great, so the guests seemed very satisfied. I even got an order from one of the guests the next day!

テイスティング会場とは違い、お料理と一緒に楽しんでいただける様子を見るのは嬉しかったです。皆さん会話もよく弾んで盛り上がっておりました。またこのようなイベントが出来たらいーなあ。
Seeing people enjoying Masút paired with great food in a relaxing ambiance was really nice. The guests seemed to have a good time, too. This setting was very different from the testing events where there the tables are full of different wines.  I hope we can do this again, soon.
