To my surprise, our Pinot Noir won a gold medal at the Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards 2017! Out of over 4000 entries! I did apply for the wine to participate in the contest, but then totally forgot about it. So when it won a gold medal it felt like I'd won the lottery. Selling wine is still pretty challenging to me right now, so I hope the gold medal will give Masút more opportunities to get attention.
The first big event was displayed at FOODEX 2017. I am not sure what else we could get but let's hope good things keep coming to us!
To think back, this is the wine I fell in love with and decided to get a license in place to be able to trade in alcohol. I had no idea back then how to sell and which direction to turn my head in. After so many sleepless nights and stomachaches, and the spirits of not giving up, taking baby steps forward, I've gradually been able to see things and understand what to do. Where there is a will, there is always a way. You just have to keep moving forward.
The 2013 Masút Pinot Noir was well received at the wine tasting event last month. Its seems that each element of the wine is blended well to give it a mild structure and complexity compared to last year. It's getting better and it's only four years old. I can hardly wait to find out what this wine will turn into.
