I participated to the local food event for the second time selling my wine since last fall. Le Temps the French restaurant owner invited me to join and sell my wine Masut at their booth again. As you say, everything gets better for the second time, the display, the variety and the number of dishes prepared were all exceeded the previous event. The chef arranged several of his hors d' oeuvres with a hint of spice in there so that they would go well with my red wine. How sweet! The weather started out sunny and nice, let's hope we could make the best out of this event!
I brought twice as much bottles this time even though it expected to get pretty hot, which would be more for a beer day than for a red wine. The day started slow, so we toasted with the beer and enjoyed the last sunny weekend before rainy season. By the time around 3 pm, people started to gather for a magic show, the highlight for the event. I recognized several people from last fall but there were many new faces, too. While I was pouring Masut to one of the repeater there, a woman approached to me, asked me if I remember her. She was my school mate from junior high and found out about the event thorough my other facebook friend's post. She wasn't sure if I were there or could recognize me after all these years, but decided to take a train to visit me anyway.
While I was chatting with her, two more gentlemen approached to us. One was a friend of mine from the wine school and another one was another school mate. Both guys took a long train ride to visit this small town to see me. What a nice and warm surprise!
The two who knew my childhood and the one who suffered through the Wine Expert Exam together shared the same table making fun of me. It was blasting but kind of fun experience to learn about myself. How people remembered me was quite different from how I remembered me as a kid. Thank you guys! I really had a good time with you.
Time went by really quickly after that, so I couldn't help the booth much but it was a nice surprise. Thanks to those 3 healthy drinkers, we sold all dishes and wines. Next one is in October and I am already looking forward to it!
